1. Nature and Protection of the Heritage Site
The Palazzo Coronini Cronberg Museum is one of the heritage sites protected by national and regional legislation relating to objects of historical, artistic, demographic and ethno-anthropological interest.
This legal status entails that the Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg Onlus is responsible for ensuring compliance with the law.
The Foundation is responsible for the conservation, enhancement and promotion of the Palazzo Coronini Cronberg Museum.
2. Opening Times of Palazzo Coronini Cronberg
Palazzo Coronini Cronberg is open all year round. For information on weekly opening and closing times, as well as any special openings and closures, please visit the website www.coronini.it.
3. Tickets
Access to the Palazzo and the exhibition areas is permitted only with a valid admission ticket. Each ticket allows a single entry and is non-reusable; once you have left the Palazzo and the exhibition areas, you cannot re-enter. Throughout your visit to the museum, staff are authorised to ask you to show your admission ticket: you must therefore keep it safe until the end of your visit. Ticket sales at the ticket office close between half an hour and one hour before closing time. For details of the exhibitions on offer and opening hours, please visit www.coronini.it.
4. Admission
Visitors who arrive after the ticket office has closed, provided they already hold a valid admission ticket, may enter – subject to validation – but must in any case leave the Palace and the exhibition areas by closing time. The ticket may not be reused. Children under the age of 14 are not permitted entry unless accompanied by their parents or other adults responsible for them.
For safety reasons, the maximum number of visitors permitted at any one time during opening hours is 26 per guide. In the case of school groups, the presence of accompanying adults (teachers, assistants or other persons delegated by the school) is required at a ratio of 1 adult for every 15 pupils.
5. Bags and personal items
Palazzo Coronini Cronberg does not provide a cloakroom service; therefore, luggage, large rucksacks, helmets and/or any other bulky items are not permitted.
6. Dress code
Out of respect for the venue and other visitors, entry to the Palazzo and the exhibition areas is not permitted in swimwear or skimpy clothing; furthermore, entry is not permitted with the face covered (except where personal protective equipment is worn for the purpose of preventing illness and/or protecting one’s own and others’ health) or whilst wearing bulky clothing. Walking barefoot is strictly prohibited.
7. Smoking
Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are prohibited in the Palace and in the exhibition areas.
8. Litter
Paper, tins, bottles or other rubbish must not be left lying about in the Palace or in the exhibition areas.
9. Animals
Given the confined spaces of the exhibition routes, animals are not permitted entry, with the sole exception of guide dogs for the blind and service dogs assisting people with disabilities.
10. Food and drink
For reasons of hygiene and to protect the artworks and the premises, eating or drinking is prohibited in the Palace, in the exhibition halls and in any areas where this is not expressly permitted. The bringing in of alcoholic beverages and spirits is prohibited. It is strictly forbidden to enter or remain on the premises whilst intoxicated or under the influence of drugs; in such cases, the Foundation reserves the right to contact the relevant authorities.
11. Photography
Video recording and/or photography using a flash are not permitted, nor is the use of tripods or selfie sticks. Low-resolution, non-commercial photography is permitted, provided it does not involve any physical contact with the artwork. Digital images may be taken, and photographic, film and television shoots may be carried out, subject to a specific request for authorisation by emailing info@coronini.it.
It is strictly forbidden to bring drones or similar devices onto the premises without prior authorisation.
12. Mobile phones and other mobile devices
Mobile phones must be set to silent mode within the Palace and in the exhibition rooms. The use of devices is permitted solely for the guided tour app and only with earphones or headphones.
13. Routes and conduct:
Visitor routes have been established to guide visitors, ensure the safety of the artworks and facilitate the flow of visitors; therefore, you must not stray from the designated routes or go beyond any barriers that have been put in place.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- sitting on the floor and/or on the stairs;
- defacing the walls;
- behaving in a manner inconsistent with decorum and/or in a way that jeopardises the safety of the exhibits and visitors;
- littering;
- loitering or sitting on access and evacuation routes and on any other passage designated as an emergency exit;
- crossing the spacing barriers between public walkways;
- damaging or tampering in any way with structures, infrastructure and services;
- displaying items that obstruct the view of other visitors, interfere with emergency signage or, in any case, obstruct escape routes to the exits;
- touching furnishings and artworks, or handling objects.
- leaning against walls, or standing on benches and chairs;
- running within the museum premises;
- using walking sticks;
- bringing knives and/or metal tools of any kind into the museum;
- bringing any type of firearm and/or dangerous material into the museum (even if in possession of a valid firearms licence);
- bringing food and drink into the museum;
- shouting or speaking in a raised voice;
- talking on the telephone, except for strictly necessary calls made in a moderate tone;
- failing to observe signage;
- behaving in a manner inappropriate to the venue (such as combing one’s hair, applying make-up, changing one’s shoes, changing a baby’s nappy – for which there is a designated area – etc.);
- bringing pets onto the premises.
For the purposes of security and monitoring, visitors are required, where requested, to hand over all items to Museum staff to allow for inspection.
Visitors who notice any unusual behaviour are asked to report it immediately to Museum staff, so that appropriate action can be taken against those responsible.
Security staff are authorised to reprimand anyone exhibiting behaviour inappropriate to the venue in order to safeguard the security of the artworks and the safety of other visitors. Should behaviour incompatible with these essential requirements persist, security staff shall be authorised to remove those responsible from the building and the exhibition areas, including with the assistance of the police, whilst the Management reserves the right to take appropriate action, including legal proceedings.
14. Role of staff
Staff are on hand to provide visitors with general information on the exhibition routes, the collections and museum activities; they are also responsible for the security of the artworks and for ensuring that visits run smoothly: visitors must therefore carefully follow the staff’s instructions and guidelines. Where necessary, security staff are authorised to intervene and remove (where necessary, with the assistance of the police) anyone whose behaviour endangers the safety of people and/or the artworks or disturbs other visitors.
For security reasons, the Palace and the exhibition areas are under CCTV surveillance.
In the event of high visitor numbers, in order to safeguard the security of the exhibited works and visitors, staff may temporarily close certain rooms or routes.
In the event of an alarm, visitors are required to follow the signage and instructions given by museum staff to the letter. Should an evacuation of the buildings be ordered, visitors must proceed in an orderly and disciplined manner, following the signage and staff instructions.
Also for the purposes of point 12, museum staff may order the removal of visitors who contravene the prohibitions and/or whose behaviour is inappropriate for a museum setting or disruptive to other visitors.
Museum staff may at any time call upon the public security authorities to intervene.
15. Viewing the artworks
Visitors must view the artworks on display from a safe distance; they must not touch them or bring any objects close to them that could damage them. It is strictly forbidden to sit on chairs, armchairs, sofas or any other furniture within the exhibition area.
16. Guided tours
Guided tours of the Palace, the exhibitions and the Park may only be conducted by staff of the Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg onlus.
All guided tours conducted by third parties must be authorised in advance by the Coronini Foundation; requests should be sent by post or by email to info@coronini.it.
Security staff are authorised to ask unauthorised persons to stop their commentary; if necessary, they may also request the intervention of the relevant authorities. For information on any admission concessions available to FVG tourist guides, please visit the webpage www.coronini.it.
Should a tour conducted by a third party be authorised, explanations must be given in a tone of voice that does not disturb or distract other visitors present; the use of any form of amplification is not permitted, and the use of earpieces (whisper systems) is recommended.
This requirement also applies to school groups accompanied by teachers, should the teachers provide explanations during the tour.
The distribution and collection of earphones provided by authorised guides, educational staff or other individuals authorised by the Foundation must take place outside the Palace and the exhibition areas, so as not to obstruct the flow of visitors entering and leaving. During explanations, the use of laser pointers to highlight works or details thereof is prohibited.
17. Group behaviour
It is advisable and necessary to follow the guide whilst remaining in the group, without shouting or speaking loudly, nor – particularly in the case of children – running or playing. In general, visitors are expected to behave appropriately and courteously, so as not to damage the exhibits or disturb other visitors. Access for groups to the Palace and the exhibition areas is subject to a quota in accordance with the Safety Plan. For further details, please consult the webpage www.coronini.it.
18. School Groups
Teachers are responsible for the behaviour of the pupils in their care. It is their duty to ensure that the pupils behave in accordance with the provisions of these Regulations. Security staff are authorised to reprimand anyone exhibiting inappropriate behaviour in order to safeguard the security of the artworks and the safety of other visitors. In the event of persistent behaviour incompatible with these essential requirements, security staff shall be authorised to remove those responsible from the Palace and the exhibition areas, including with the assistance of the police, whilst the Management reserves the right to take appropriate action and measures, including through the courts.
19. Refunds
Tickets are non-refundable. Refunds may only be granted in the event of cancellation of the event by the organiser or due to force majeure, at the Foundation’s sole discretion. In the latter case, refund requests may be submitted by post or via email to info@coronini.it.
The assessment and verification procedures will be initiated within 30 days.
20. Reports and complaints
Visitors may submit information, suggestions, reports, proposals and any complaints by email to info@coronini.it.
21. Liability and penalties
The Foundation is exempt from any liability for damage to persons and/or property caused by failure to comply with these Regulations.
Parents or guardians assume responsibility for the minors in their care for the entire duration of their stay at Palazzo Coronini Cronberg.
The Foundation reserves the right to claim compensation for any damage caused to the exhibits and to parts of the Palazzo.
Failure to comply with the provisions of these Regulations may result in removal from the exhibition and, where appropriate, the initiation of legal proceedings, as well as claims for compensation in favour of the Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg onlus and any persons who have suffered harm as a result of such non-compliance.
22. CCTV
All rooms are fitted with alarm-linked CCTV cameras that continuously record the premises and ensure that visitors walk and stand only in the designated areas. Should these instructions not be followed, an alarm will be triggered automatically, following which staff may remove the offender(s) and ask them to leave.
